What are the Self-Concept Factors & how do they effect personal development?

What are the self-concept factors? And how does each of these factors effect a person’s personal development positively and negatively?

Only you can answer that for yourself !

Help! I need an example of a "Self Development Goal" for my final review at work. Something not overly pious.?

I need to provide a "self development goal" for my annual review. It is a blank on an electronic form that requires an entry. I’m looking for a vague yet grounded, weasel-worded goal (my position is osp design engineer). HELP!!

Insert some new technology that will help you in your job or some sort of referencing to building/working on cross functional teams.

For me, I always put some sort of educational spin to it -so getting a cert, taking classes, etc

What self development/improvement must a young army officer do to enhance his leadership qualities?

After getting commissioned as a officer what should be the sphere of emphasis that the young officer has to concentrate on to develope his leadership traits and qualities as a leader to enhance his standing within his unit, his subordinates, peers and superior officers with greater relevance to self improvement and self development personally and professionally.

The best thing he can hope for is a quality Platoon Sergeant…if he has one…and he is willing to pay attention and listen, that man will teach him everything he needs to know and then some. The Company First Sergeant and the Battalion Sergeant Major are also good resources…
But if you go in like a know it all…you are in for a hard time.
I’ll tell you what I always told young Lieutenants, you are in charge but this is MY platoon. If I tell you what you are about to do is stupid and you tell me you are in charge and we are gonna do it your way you remember this….
The Battalion Commander is not going to come to you when it is screwed up, he will come to me and ask why did you let that Lieuteanat do that.
I hope that gives you some perspective on how it really is.

What are the major factors that affect the development of self concept?

You are…But the thing is, we start to develop a self concept before we are aware that such a thing exists…

Everything we learn is filtered through our perceptive "lens."
WE create a mirror image of the universe in our own minds, but once we learn language, other people begin to influence our view of things and have a profound effect on our self concept by labeling us and or telling us "how the world works."

So, our idea of who we are is usually most dependent on how we see ourselves in relation to the rest of the universe…Our idea of the universe is formed by observation and our parents, peers and culture…At least until we begin to realize that the so called "universe" is a subjective experience that everyone sees differently…

The development of self concept requires at least a little sense of importance in the universe, if you see yourself as "insignificant" from the start, you’re a "speck," you may be a unique snowflake or an ant, but you wont get a lot further than that…As humans we generally find our defining moments relating and interacting with other humans, but our concept of self will generally be formed from positive experience. Often, if we are more successful in a certain area, we pursue whatever we can do best, so some people are defining themselves through their work, or even through misbehaviour. The action (or inaction,) of parents will be a powerful influence early on as to what direction a child finds fulfillment and definition.

"Spiritual beliefs" play a major role after early childhood. Acceptance or rejection of a "higher power" will certainly affect a person.

After religion, I suppose society itself begins to help define us.

After that…Its up to everyone to figure out how to see ourselves…

In a self development audit, I need to list skills, knowledge and attitudes?

I am struggling to find examples of knowledge and attitudes to insert into this for my HRM assignment! Can anyone help define these and provide examples
thanks

Knowledge means knowledge in a certain area IE) law, child development. Since I don’t know what you do there you can be specific such as knowledge of certain legislation, codes, policies, procedures, manuals, legal system, human rights, accounting functions etc.

Attitudes means your attitude about job related items and in general. IE.) self started, disciplined, structured, supportive, goal orientated, determined etc.

I hope i was a bit helpful.

can i have 10 facts atleast on self awareness and self development?

i leave in a community where the poeple live far below their productivity level and i found out its majorly because of self limiting factors and they dont know what they carry on the inside on them

1/ Generally speaking, people who set goals are more successful, more productive and lead more fulfilling lives than those that dont.

2/ Most successful people have failed. Failure is unimportant. Perserverance, overcoming procrastination and learning lessons are key.

3/ Your future is created by your thoughts. Its all in the way you look at the world and the belief you have in what you have to offer.

4/ No event has any meaning other than the meaning you choose to give it. And that includes the meaning of life.

5/ Its not glass half full or half empty. The world belongs to those who can look at the glass and say "Oii whats up with this glass? Oii Excuse me! Excuse me! This is my glass? I dont think so? My glass was full. And it was a much bigger glass!!"

6/ To maximise your productivity become a person of value. Help others get what they want. Dont chase more. Focus on your life plan and add value.

7/ "Winners in life think in terms of I can, I will, I am. Loses focus on what they should have done or dont do"

8/ People’s defintion of themselves limits their potential. They can change their own definition of who they are by simply defining who they want to become – and then taking the appropriate action.

9/ Taking good care of yourself, removing from your life those things that drain you, eliminating mental, emotional and physical clutter, identifying your core values will all help your productivity.

10/ You can increase productivity by breaking away from the lowest denominator of the community, being brave, exploiting trends, learning from those who have achieved success and cultivating love.

Good luck!
